Den Leader Resources

Leader's Wiki.
Pack 157 has a Leader's Wiki where den leaders can write notes about how well different activities worked for them. Look at what other den leaders wrote, and leave pearls of wisdom for future den leaders!

Internet.
There are also lots of Cub Scout resources on the Web. Some favorites are: www.boyscouttrail.com and www.usscouts.org.

Talk to Others.
Just as valuable as training is the experience of your peers. Talk to your peer den leaders and Cubmasters whenever you get a chance.

The Knox Trail Council holds monthly "Roundtables" that are a great way to get some ideas from leaders across the Council. Also, attending Roundtables can help you earn a snappy adult knot badge for your position.

Around Town.

  • Webelos dens should take advantage of the Council's Webelos Adventure Meets to knock-off some of the adventure pins.
  • The Acton Museum can also do a Webelos Geology session for a fee.
  • The Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History in Weston and the Golden Ball Tavern in Weston offer programs for Cub Scouts.
  • The Museum of Fine Arts Boston offers programs for Cub Scouts for a fee.
  • The Broadmoor Sanctuary in Natick offers programs for all levels of Cub Scouts for a fee.
  • To teach boys about the effects of pollution for the Wolf Spirit of the Water adventure, you can borrow the stormwater model from the Charles River Watershed Association at 190 Park Road, Weston. It is free but you will need to leave a check deposit.
